179 Ministry of Education The Ministry of Education is pleased about this cooperation with the Arthur Rubinstein Society. The Ministry promotes performing, creating and listening to music among young musicians and believes that following the Competition will have an important impact on forming and building their personality. After experiencing a significant slowdown in every aspect of music teaching and performing, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am very happy that the Competition is fully back in the concert halls and that we can enjoy again the special energy created between audience and performers. Betsalel Kuperwasser Head Music Supervisor The Arthur Rubinstein International Society sees great importance in expanding its audience outside central Israel. The echoes of the Competition continue to increase this year, reaching five musical centers where the two orchestral final evenings will be shown on big screens, for those who would like to experience the Competition in Tel Aviv, but cannot be there. The audience will be able to enjoy the Competition and feel as if they are actively participating in the event, despite the distance. The Jezreel Valley Regional Council, the Haifa Conservatory of Music, the Kedumim Regional Council, the Dimona Municipality, and the Arad Municipality took up the challenge, and the successful initiative that first materialized during the 15th Competition, and was very successful in the 16th, is now growing. The audience in these locations will watch the two final evenings, and choose their own “audience favorite.” The pianist chosen as audience favorite, in each location, will be invited to perform there and meet personally with the locals afterward. During the finals evenings, there will be live performances by local music ensembles and soloists in each music center. Jezreel Valley Congratulations to the participants of the 17th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. The Jezreel Valley, the cradle of settlement and pioneering, has always been the source for new Israeli innovation. Our students are exposed to music from kindergarten to high school and we consider this very important – our schools cultivate choirs, young musicians and musical ensembles. Music enriches our lives and expands our souls and we are proud to be part of a musical event on an international level. Regards, Eyal Betzer Head of Jezreel Valley Regional Council Youth Outreach
