150 Rules for the Jury A. Meetings of the Jury shall be conducted by the Jury Chair. At the initial meeting, the Jury shall elect two Vice- Chairs from among its members. B. The Jury members shall report to the Jury Chair which of the competitors, if any, has been his/her pupil during the period ending on 1 August 2022. Voting on these competitors shall be held in accordance with Rules D and E. C. At the conclusion of each stage, each Jury member shall submit a list of the competitors he/she has selected to be admitted to the next stage. At the end of Stage I, the list will include 16 competitors as well as 3 additional names in the "maybe" category. At the end of Stage II the list will include 6 names and 2 additional names in the "maybe" category. The Jury members' "maybe" votes will be taken into consideration only if there is a tie in the affirmative votes. D. Any member of the Jury may, if he/she sees fit, include the name of his/her former pupil (as per B) on the voting list. However, in such cases, the Jury member's vote on behalf of that particular competitor will not be counted. E. The votes for each of the competitors shall be counted and the final result for each competitor will be expressed as the ratio between the total number of votes received and the total number of Jury members eligible to vote for him/her. F. The counting of the votes shall be the responsibility of the Competition Management and shall be performed in the presence of the Jury Chair, who will announce the results of each ballot to the Jury members, to the competitors and to the audience. G. Stages I and II: In the event of a tie for the last places, the votes in the "maybe" category will be taken into account. In the event of an unresolved tie for the last places (after counting the "maybe" votes), a second ballot shall be held for the tied competitors, in order to select the competitors for the remaining places to be filled. (Subject to Rules D and E). Should the result remain indecisive, the competitor with the lowest number of votes, if there is such a competitor, shall be eliminated and a further ballot will be held to vote on the remaining tied competitors. If there is no such competitor, a discussion will take place followed by a further ballot. This process shall continue until all places are filled. The Jury Chair shall announce the final results of the ballot to the Jury. Following this announcement, there shall be no further deliberations or re-voting. H. Final Stage: The First Prizewinner shall be determined by a simple ballot in which each Jury member shall have one vote. A Jury member, whose former pupil has reached the final stage, will not be permitted to participate in this ballot. Should none of the competitors attain at least half of the votes of the Jury members entitled to vote and who did vote in the final stage, then a further ballot shall be held to decide between the two competitors with the most votes. Should the result be a tie, a discussion will take place followed by a further ballot. This procedure will continue until the Jury has reached a conclusive decision. Once the First Prizewinner has been determined, the winner of the Second and Third Prizes shall be determined by the same procedure. I. The Jury members shall not communicate any part of the Jury's proceedings or deliberations to any person outside the Jury meetings. J. The Jury's decisions are final and beyond appeal. K. The English version of the Competition General Rules and the Rules for the Jury is the binding version.
