927 Early multidisciplinary and multi-modality intervention for toddlers with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities Raz Tenenbaum, Rachel Yifat and Bracha Nir Abstract The present chapter deals with the importance of early intervention for toddlers with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD). Although the genetic and neurological profile of infants with DCD play a significant role in determining their functioning in the various areas of development, a nurturing and supportive environment combined with an appropriate intervention program starting as early as possible has a substantial impact on improving and promoting the toddlers’ participation and their quality of life (Bull, 2020 ; Guralnick & Bruder, 2019). A transdisciplinary approach which addresses the various areas of functioning, and takes into account the use of various communication modalities, is required in order to characterize the supports that are essential for the toddler with DCD. These supports are required in order to create for a toddler with DCD home and kindergarten optimal environment for acquisition of skills essential for his development. Such tailored early intervention outlines the continuation of the toddler’s developmental path (Guralnick, 2011; Houwen et al., 2016). Chapter on page 541
