Between the years 1994-2001, he was a member of the Israel Opera Orchestra and since 2014 he has been Guest Principal Clarinetist of the Korean Broadcasting Orchestra. Born in Israel, Ron studied with Eli Heifetz. He earned his Bachelor and Master's degrees from Indiana University, Bloomington, where he studied with Eli Eban and James Campbell, and won the Woodwind Concerto Competition. He is a prizewinner of both the Coleman and Fischoff Chamber Music Competitions in the USA. Ron Selka is a Buffet Crampon artist and plays R13 Prestige and Festival Clarinets. Mor Biron, Bassoon The Israeli Bassoonist Mor Biron, born in 1982, was from 2007 to 2021 a member of the world famous Berliner Philharmoniker. He played the cello before starting his bassoon lessons with Gad Lederman and Maurizio Paez. Mor holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, studied at the “Hanns Eisler” Hochschule für Musik in Berlin with Prof. Klaus Thunemann and Prof. Volker Tessmann and was a scholar of the Karajan-Akademie of the Berliner Philharmoniker. As a scholarship holder from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, he won numerous prizes, among them first prize of the Aviv Competition in Tel Aviv. Mor is a founding member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under the musical direction of Daniel Barenboim, whom he often performs with. Mor held the first bassoon position at the “Orquesta del Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia” in Valencia. He is an active chamber musician, a member of Ensemble Berlin-Prag and the Philharmonisches Oktett and following his passion for early music, Mor performs on historical instruments with various ensembles as well. As a teacher and educator for bassoon and music, Mor invests much of his time giving masterclasses worldwide, working and meeting young musicians. He was a teacher at the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker for many years and is the leading Professor of the Bassoon studio at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin. He is a professor at the Academy of Orchestral Studies in Seville and since 2022 he is “Artist in Residence” at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
