For her artistic and pedagogical achievements Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń has received a number of awards, including those of national significance. Xiaohan Wang (China) Prizewinner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (Texas), the ARD International Music Competition (Munich), and the Beethoven International Piano Competition (Bonn), Xiaohan Wang has performed hundreds of concerts in Europe, Russia, USA, Canada, Israel and Asia. He has been guest performer at Ravinia Festival, Beethoven Festival, Rubinstein Festival, the Hundred Pianists in the 20th Century Concert Series in Tokyo, and the Concert for the 22nd Anniversary of Sino-ROK Diplomatic Relation in Seoul. A superb chamber musician, Wang has collaborated with violinist Hilary Hahn, Ning Feng, cellist Misha Maisky, Qin Liwei, the Jerusalem Quartet, the Takács Quartet, the Tokyo Quartet, and the Juilliard Quartet. In addition, Wang is also a talented composer and conductor, having conducted the Israel Symphony Orchestra and others. His composition “The Inspiration of Painting” was chosen as the compulsory piece for the 2007 Beethoven International Piano Competition. He has given master classes at The Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, Hannover Hochschule für Musik und Theater and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He also serves on the jury in many international competitions, namely the Sydney Competition, the Isangyun Competition, Korea, and the Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. A Steinway Artist and honorary professor, Wang is Chair of Pre-College Piano Studies and professor of chamber music in post-graduate studies at the Tianjin Juilliard School. He also holds the title of Distinguished Professor of piano at the China Conservatory of Music. His students have won more than 50 prizes at international competitions, including the Gold Medal at the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians, Gold Medal at the Singapore International Piano Competition (youth category), Grand Prize at the “Xinghai Cup” in China, Bronze Prize at the Steinway Competition in China, Silver Medal and Mazurka Prize at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Poland, as well as the Gold Prize at the Shenzhen Open National Piano Competition (concerto category).
