120 nominated Magnus Lindberg’s Piano Concerto No. 2, commissioned for him and performed by the New York Philharmonic conducted by Alan Gilbert on the Da Capo label; Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No.1 with Mariss Jansons and the Bayerischer Rundfunk; a recital disc, Perspectives, complementing Mr. Bronfman’s designation as a Carnegie Hall ‘Perspectives’ artist for the 2007-08 season; and recordings of all the Beethoven piano concerti as well as the Triple Concerto together with violinist Gil Shaham, cellist Truls Mørk, and the Tönhalle Orchestra Zürich under David Zinman for the Arte Nova/BMG label. Born in Tashkent in the Soviet Union, Yefim Bronfman immigrated to Israel with his family in 1973, where he studied with pianist Arie Vardi, head of the Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University. In the United States, he studied at The Juilliard School, Marlboro School of Music, and the Curtis Institute of Music, under Rudolf Firkusny, Leon Fleisher, and Rudolf Serkin. A recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Prize, one of the highest honors given to American instrumentalists, in 2010 he was further honored as the recipient of the Jean Gimbel Lane prize in piano performance from Northwestern University and in 2015 with an honorary doctorate from the Manhattan School of Music. Akiko Ebi Born in Osaka, Japan, Akiko Ebi began learning to play the piano at three and a half years old. First prize at the National Piano Competition in Japan launched her international career. She won the 2nd Grand Prix at the Long/Thibaud Competition in Paris, receiving 4 special prizes from Arthur Rubinstein, Emile Sauer, and Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Laureate at the Fryderyk Chopin International Competition in Warsaw. She studied with Aldo Ciccolini at the Paris National Conservatoire, Vlado Perlemuter, Conrad Hansen, Luis Kentner, Colette Zerah, Susumu Nagai, and Toyoaki Matsuura. She has performed throughout the world in 37 countries, including at the Berlin Philharmonie Hall, Gewandhaus Concert Hall, Suntory Hall, Teatro Colón, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Salle Pleyel, Salle Gaveau, and Wigmore Hall, among others. She has performed with conductors such as Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Frans Bruggen, Marek Janowsky, Vassily Sinaisky, Lawrence Foster, Yutaka Sado, Michiyoshi Inoué, Kenichirô Kobayashi, Ryusuke Numajiri, Hideaki Mutô, Theodor Gushulbauer, Pedro Ignacio Calderón, Rossen Milanov, Erich Bergel, Bernhard Klee, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Monika Wolinska, Stanislaw Strugala, Jean Fournet, and many Japanese conductors as well. Her Duo Concert with Martha Argerich has been broadcast many times worldwide. Her musical partners include Martha Argerich, Ivry Gitlis, Augustin Dumay, Régis Pasquier, Yumino Toyoda, Alto Noras, Angela Hewitt, and the Quintets, including Moragues, Parisii Quartet, Via Nova Quartet, etc. She appears regularly at festivals in La Roque d’Anthéron, Menton, Echternach, Verbier, Folle journée Jury Members
