In addition to his solo career, he also devotes himself to the field of chamber music. Pavel Gililov was a member of the Berlin Philharmonic Piano Quartet. Pierre Amoyal, Dimitri Sitkovetsky, Tabea Zimmermann and Mischa Maisky were his regular chamber music partners. For over 25 years he was part of the duo with Boris Pergamenschikow, several years of the trio with Viktor Tretjakov and Karine Georgian. In 2005, Pavel Gililov founded the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn and has since always been its artistic director and president of the jury. Pavel Gililov leads numerous international masterclasses worldwide and is a sought-after juror for prestigious competitions. Several works by contemporary composers have been devoted to him and premiered by him. Yoheved Kaplinsky Pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky is the Susan W. Rose Chair of Juilliard’s Piano Department. Currently an artistic advisor to the Pre-College Division, she served as its artistic director from 2007 to 2019. Dr. Kaplinsky has appeared throughout the United States as a recitalist, in chamber music concerts, and with orchestras, including performances in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Noted for her insight and understanding of piano technique, she has been in great demand for lectures and master classes in the USA, Israel, Europe and the Far East. She was a faculty member at Philadelphia University of the Arts, Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore from 1989 to 97, and at the Manhattan School of Music. She has been a member of the Juilliard piano faculty since 1993. She also teaches regularly at various summer festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival and PianoTexas International Academy Festival. She has participated in the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival in Maine, the Tel-Hai International Master Classes in Israel, Pianofest in Long Island, New York and the Oxford Philomusica Piano Festival and Summer Academy in the U.K., among others. Dr. Kaplinsky frequently serves as a judge in international competitions, including the Cleveland, Rubinstein, Dublin, Cliburn, Hamamatsu and Tchaikovsky competitions. She received the Presidential Scholars Teacher Recognition Award in 2003 and 2010. Dr. Kaplinsky began her musical career as a prizewinner in the J.S. Bach International Competition in Washington, D.C. A native of Israel, she studied with Ilona Vincze at the Tel Aviv Music Academy before entering The Juilliard School as a scholarship student of Irwin Freundlich. She holds master of music and doctor of musical arts degrees from Juilliard, and is also the recipient of many awards for scholastic and pianistic achievements.
