English 54 Responder may bid 2 ♥ , 2 ♠ or even 3 ♥ . All these responses mean: Pass or Correct . We may end up playing Opener's major suit at the two or three level, as long as the opponents let us. With a better hand, usually an opening with some extras, Responder may bid 2NT , asking Opener to disclose his hand according to the following schedule (other pairs may use a different variation):  3 ♣ = minimal weak-two in hearts.  3 ♦ = minimal weak-two in spades.  3 ♥ = maximal weak-two in hearts.  3 ♠ = maximal weak-two in spades.  3NT = balanced 20-22. We are probably heading for a slam.  Our opening bids of 2 ♥ , 2 ♠ and 2NT show weak two-suited hands: 2 ♥ = 8-11 HCP, 5 hearts + 5 cards in an unspeci fi ed minor. 2 ♠ = 8-11 HCP, 5 spades + 5 cards in another suit. 2NT = 8-11 HCP, 5-5 in the minors. All the above bids have strong preemptive value. They are not too dangerous as partner can usually escape to our second suit where necessary. Our 2 ♦ opening requires an announcement, while the 2 ♥ , 2 ♠ and 2NT openings require Alerts. Studying 2 ♦ multi is indeed worthwhile, as this convention has become extremely popular. Even if you don't play it, you should at least understand what's going on when your opponents use it (even if nobody else does  ). ! đĜđėĕĐ ĐčđĜďĐ ĘĞ ĦđĤĐĜ ĔĕĕĥĘ 2015 ēĝĠ ĘĕĤĠČč 6- ĐĚ ĘēĐ ...
